Meet Scooby!
The Plainfield Public Library is proud to offer Read to a Dog, a welcoming and confidence-building literacy program for children of all ages and abilities.
Children are invited to spend time with a certified therapy dog in a relaxed, supportive environment. Reading to animals can help reduce anxiety, improve confidence, and make reading feel fun and safe.
Participants do not need to read perfectly — and they do not even need to read traditionally. Children are welcome to:
- Read aloud from a favorite book
- Describe pictures
- Tell a story
- Practice early literacy skills
- Simply spend time talking
All reading levels are welcome.
📅 Date: First Wednesday of every month
⏰ Time: 3:30-4:30pm
📍 Location: Plainfield Public Library
We believe stories grow here — and sometimes, they grow best with a furry friend listening.
