Come to the library this next Monday, July 29th, from 2-5pm for our very first "Local History Club" meeting! Everyone is welcome!
The library has accumulated a very nice collection of historical documents and artifacts over the years thanks to the generous donations of our patrons! For example, we have numerous bound copies of the Plainfield Sun newspaper from the late 1800's, Tri-County School yearbooks that go many decades back, a number of old pictures, and more! We want to be able to share these items with the whole community!
We will bring out a selection of items for people to page through and enjoy in the library and we will also provide light refreshments in the meeting room so people can gather to converse and recollect. This will be a very informal, self-guided type of event that we hope to start doing on a regular basis if there's enough interest.
